The College welcomed the Prime Minster to its newest facility on 18th July to officially open the Aerospace Research and Innovation Centre.
Visiting the Ofsted-Outstanding college, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson was given a tour of the new research centre where both employers and students will collaborate on STEAM initiatives.
Led by Principal CEO Virginia Barrett, Mr Johnson was also introduced to the College’s hugely successful Esports team alongside a group of aeronautical engineering apprentices who were working on the College’s light aircraft.
We were pleased to host Leo Docherty MP for a visit of the new facility and its progress, led by Principal CEO Virginia Barrett, academic staff, and Site Manager Mark Hickman.
Members of the College management team visited the site for the first time with the roof and main walls in place.
The visit showed how large and open the main space is and gave staff a great idea of the multiple spaces available to employers to collaborate in.
Farnborough College of Technology has begun development of its dedicated aerospace education, training and innovation facility – the Aerospace Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) – following a ground breaking ceremony in December.
The ground breaking ceremony took place at the ARIC site at the Farnborough College of Technology campus, attended by project partners, collaborators and building developers.
